Weed Advisory Group and Information

At Town Meeting in May, 2015, it was requested that a Town Weed Advisory Committee be formed to advise the Board of Selectmen about the growing weed problem on Lake Maspenock.

The town has formed the Lake Maspenock Aquatic Vegetation Control & Management Advisory Group to research and develop additional approaches to combat the weeds. This group is currently meeting regularly.

Meeting minutes to these meetings will be posted on our website, once approved.

Below is a link to the DPW Public Google Drive with comprehensive information and reports.

The link below is a link to the Town of Hopkinton Department of Public Works/Lakes and Dams.  This is a very comprehensive collection of information, updated regularly, with meetings, information, etc.  Please review and we also have specific folders in this page with more specific information.

HOW CAN I HELP THE LAKE

Help protect our local water quality by joining the Adopt-a-Drain - Massachusetts program! Storm drains flow directly to streams, lakes, and beaches, acting as a conduit for trash and pollutants. By volunteering just fifteen minutes, twice a month, to keep a nearby storm drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris, you can make a significant difference. Not only will you protect Lake Maspenock, but you will also protect other local streams, lakes, and beaches closer to you! It's easy to get started: simply Sign Up online, enter your address to find a drain on the map, and adopt it in your neighborhood! You can also easily Track Impact by reporting the debris you collect on your online account.
