IMPORTANT Select Board Meet­ing — Tomor­row, Tues­day, March 26 OPEN FORUM at 6:30pm- please attend There is a packed agen­da for the Select Board meet­ing tomor­row, Tues­day, March 26 from 6:00–8:00 pm with a cou­ple of extreme­ly impor­tant top­ics. You will want to tune in!! The main top­ic affect­ing our com­mu­ni­ty is at 7:30 (but could be soon­er!) when DPW and the Lake Maspenock Weed Man­age­ment Group (CIG) will be pro­vid­ing an update to the Select Board on their deci­sion to use her­bi­cides to spot treat areas of the North Basin over­grown with weeds. For those in sup­port, we high­ly encour­age you to speak in favor of this rec­om­men­da­tion by mak­ing a com­ment dur­ing the Pub­lic Forum stat­ing your sup­port of the DPW and the CIG’s deci­sion. The Pub­lic Forum begins at 6:30pm but we sug­gest those attend­ing show up clos­er to 6pm as we antic­i­pate the meet­ing room (2nd floor of Town Hall) will be packed and there is always a chance they start ear­ly. If you are unable to attend in per­son, please attend via Zoom to show your sup­port. Please raise your hand, Amy R. will call on you, and then you can pro­vide the same infor­ma­tion as if you were attend­ing in person.

HOW CAN I HELP THE LAKE

Help protect our local water quality by joining the Adopt-a-Drain - Massachusetts program! Storm drains flow directly to streams, lakes, and beaches, acting as a conduit for trash and pollutants. By volunteering just fifteen minutes, twice a month, to keep a nearby storm drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris, you can make a significant difference. Not only will you protect Lake Maspenock, but you will also protect other local streams, lakes, and beaches closer to you! It's easy to get started: simply Sign Up online, enter your address to find a drain on the map, and adopt it in your neighborhood! You can also easily Track Impact by reporting the debris you collect on your online account.
