SPECIAL TOWN MEETING ARTICLE APPROVED

ARTICLE 2: Sup­ple­men­tal Appro­pri­a­tion for Repair of Lake Maspenock Dam
Spon­sor: Town Manager

To see if the Town will vote to amend the vote tak­en under Arti­cle 19 of the 2017 Annu­al Town
Meet­ing by increas­ing the amount autho­rized there­by for the Repair of Lake Maspenock Dam project (Item B) by a sum or sums of mon­ey to be raised and appro­pri­at­ed, trans­ferred from avail­able funds, or oth­er­wise provided.

Pass any vote or take any act rel­a­tive thereto.
Required Rec­om­men­da­tions: Board of Select­men rec­om­mends approval.
Appro­pri­a­tion Com­mit­tee rec­om­mends approval.
Cap­i­tal Improve­ments Com­mit­tee rec­om­mends approval.

Motion (Appro­pri­a­tion Com­mit­tee): We move that the Town vote to amend its vote
pur­suant to Arti­cle 19 of the 2017 Annu­al Town Meet­ing War­rant by increas­ing the
amount autho­rized by $140,000 (ONE HUNDRED FORTY THOUSAND DOLLARS) for a total
of $250,000 (TWO HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS) for the repair of Lake
Maspenock Dam (Item B), with said addi­tion­al sum being trans­ferred from Free Cash.

Vote Need­ed: Sim­ple Majority.

HOW CAN I HELP THE LAKE

Help protect our local water quality by joining the Adopt-a-Drain - Massachusetts program! Storm drains flow directly to streams, lakes, and beaches, acting as a conduit for trash and pollutants. By volunteering just fifteen minutes, twice a month, to keep a nearby storm drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris, you can make a significant difference. Not only will you protect Lake Maspenock, but you will also protect other local streams, lakes, and beaches closer to you! It's easy to get started: simply Sign Up online, enter your address to find a drain on the map, and adopt it in your neighborhood! You can also easily Track Impact by reporting the debris you collect on your online account.
