GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING — JUNE 22, 2015

Posted on by

The Lake Maspenock Preservation Association will hold a membership meeting on Monday, June 22, 2015 at 6:30 PM. The location of the meeting is Sandy Beach. In case of rain, the meeting will be moved to Tuesday, 6/23, the same time and place. An email will be sent out to notify the membership of any postponement.

Annual elections for positions on the Executive Board will be held. The following positions are up for election:

* President Currently held by Malcolm Page Seeking re-election
* Executive #1 Currently held by Sabine St. Pierre Seeking re-election
* Executive #2 Currently held by David Collins Not seeking re-election

Anyone interested in running for one of the available positions should contact Malcolm Page, (malcolmepage@gmail.com), for additional information.

In addition to the elections, there will be an important discussion concerning Aquatic Plant Growth Management. The results and implications of the vote taken at this year’s town meeting will be reviewed. Developments since town meeting will be discussed. The LMPA will be working with the town to evaluate the available options and to implement, what we hope will be, an effective strategy. This is the most challenging problem that the LMPA is currently facing. This is a great opportunity for us to come together as an association to decide which direction to take.

Please make every effort to attend this meeting. It is important that the membership be actively involved in our organization.

The Officers and Executive Board members of
Lake Maspenock Preservation Association

HOW CAN I HELP THE LAKE

Help protect our local water quality by joining the Adopt-a-Drain - Massachusetts program! Storm drains flow directly to streams, lakes, and beaches, acting as a conduit for trash and pollutants. By volunteering just fifteen minutes, twice a month, to keep a nearby storm drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris, you can make a significant difference. Not only will you protect Lake Maspenock, but you will also protect other local streams, lakes, and beaches closer to you! It's easy to get started: simply Sign Up online, enter your address to find a drain on the map, and adopt it in your neighborhood! You can also easily Track Impact by reporting the debris you collect on your online account.
