Exec­u­tive Board Meet­ing Agenda

May 14, 2012

ATTENDANCE:  Mal­colm, Lou, Tina, Pat­ty, Mike, Drew, Mark, Bri­an, Matt

Start:  7:06 pm

 

 

1.  Review and vote to accept min­utes from March 7th meeting

Motion:  Mal­colm

Sec­ond : Mike

Unan­i­mous

 

2.  Treasurer’s Report

$3,148.14 (Ball park, Tina need­ed to add some deposits)

Tax­es done, every­thing looks good

Tina will send out anoth­er mem­ber­ship email June/July.

 

3.  Fish­ing Tournament

12 paid boats in advance, 3 paid that day

10 boats all togeth­er participated

Peo­ple had a great time

4 lbs 11 oz. – Largest Bass

28 fish caught all together

Boat inspec­tion should be part of the sign in next time

$200.00 in fund­ing approved by Exec­u­tive Bd. vote in April was expend­ed to cov­er costs such as tro­phies, paper goods, food

Cash prizes:

50% for win­ner,  35% 2nd place,  15% 3rd place

4.  EMC Town Meet­ing Zon­ing Article

 

Busy with hear­ings, etc.  EMC pulled arti­cle off of town war­rant but its not going away.    Will be revis­it­ed in the Fall.

 

Pro­pos­al from Malcolm:

Motion: Form a Sub­com­mit­tee to meet with EMC officials,

Drew, Mal­colm, Mike and Dave Gibbs,

report­ing back to the E‑Board.

Sec­ond: Tina

Vote:  8 in favor, one abstained

Mal­colm to research pos­si­bil­i­ty of 4‑story park­ing structure

One of the next steps: All E‑Board Mem­bers meets with total mem­ber­ship in spe­cial meet­ing, to be deter­mined, after sub­com­mit­tee meets with EMC officials.

 

5.  Fam­i­ly Fun Day and Annu­al Meet­ing – 2nd Week­end in June

Sat­ur­day, June 9th – Rain date of Sun­day, June 10th

 

Tina and Pat­ty avail­able and will coor­di­nate event

Ani­mal Adven­tures – Tina to call

Bri­an to get permit

11:00 am – 2:00 pm

Ani­mals – 12:30 pm

 

6.  Elec­tions –

Matt McCoy (Exec­u­tive Board Mem­ber, not seek­ing re-election)

Lou Pryst­sas (Exec­u­tive Board Mem­ber, seek­ing re-election)

Mal­colm Page (Present, Exec­u­tive board, seek­ing re-election)

Mal­colm will be prepar­ing a release indi­cat­ing that all 3 posi­tions are open for any inter­est­ed qual­i­fied mem­bers who would like to run

7.  New Business

Water Test­ing – reaf­firm vot­ing from last year

Vote to spend $600 dollars –

Motion:  Fund con­tin­ued water testing

Sandy Beach Improve­ment Passed at Town Meeting –

$330,000 to fix Sandy Beach

New Tree Program

Bath House

 

Need to get Dam Com­mit­tee Board back together

Mike will con­tin­ue to coor­di­nate the for­ma­tion and revival of the Dam Com­mit­tee with the Hop­kin­ton Town Man­ag­er.  He will work on how mem­bers of the com­mit­tee will be select­ed and who will be eligible.

 

Review of new brochure cre­at­ed by Lou – looks good!

HOW CAN I HELP THE LAKE

Help protect our local water quality by joining the Adopt-a-Drain - Massachusetts program! Storm drains flow directly to streams, lakes, and beaches, acting as a conduit for trash and pollutants. By volunteering just fifteen minutes, twice a month, to keep a nearby storm drain clear of leaves, trash, and other debris, you can make a significant difference. Not only will you protect Lake Maspenock, but you will also protect other local streams, lakes, and beaches closer to you! It's easy to get started: simply Sign Up online, enter your address to find a drain on the map, and adopt it in your neighborhood! You can also easily Track Impact by reporting the debris you collect on your online account.
